ACCESS PROJECT
Chairman Max Taylor speaks at the Angling Trust Worcester Meeting
PHASE 2
Phase 2 of the access improvement project is underway thanks to a second successful bid for funding from Angling Improvement Fund . The funding is provided from license monies allocated by the Environment Agency. This phase includes a new access road opposite the lay-by at the top of our stretch. Also an off-road car park for at least 5 cars. There will be new access steps , landings and a handrail all the way down the steep bank for safe access to the river.

PHASE 1
Work has begun on making access to our stretch of the river at Leaton estate much safer. This work would not be possible without the help and cooperation of the Estate and its staff and the Angling Improvement Fund Bid which we have recently bid for and won.
The first process was marking out the various paths we would like to improve and make safer for all our angling members
The first access path from car park B to the river side is now complete and work will commence soon on the path near the stables cottages.
We would love to see you on one of the work parties there is plenty more to be done to improve our fishery so please get in touch with Dave Haughton for further details of dates and times…………………………….
We have completed the project with the finale today 27/04/2018 the official opening . You can see the video of the opening speeches and ribbon cutting here. Also you can hear Max being Interviewed on BBC Radio Shropshire by Eric Smith and Clare Ashford earlier on the day….enjoy
